Lane County Conservation District State Cost-Share program

Through funding assistance from the State of Kansas Water Funds, Conservation Districts are able to provide cost-share assistance to producers in Lane County to install Conservation practices on their land.  The practices and cost-share rates are selected by the Board of Supervisors based on local priorities.

The annual sign-up period is held in May, but applications can be taken at anytime.

Common Practices are as follows:

  • Terraces and Terrace Restoration
  • Windbreak/Shelterbelt Establishment
  • Tree & Shrub Establishment
  • Grassed Waterway or Outlet
  • Diversions
  • Prescribed Grazing Incentive Payment
  • Critical Area Planting
  • Livestock Tanks
  • Livestock Pipelines
  • Cross-Fencing for Pastures
  • Pumping Plants for Livestock Water Supply including Solar Systems, Windmills, Submersible Pumps & Pumpjacks
  • Critical Area Grass Planting
